These beautifully hand-crafted fair trade products from Emily Readett-Bayley, currently selling in Liberty’s and Harvey Nichols, needed a retail catalogue to match their pedigree. A combination of wit, beautiful colours and a carefully ordered layout has given rise to a small but perfectly formed 12 page catalogue with a central throw-out, printed on silk art paper.
We were also commissioned to photograph many of the products – a pretty quirky shoot which involved getting a neighbour’s daughter to pose in an upstairs barn window clutching a big red wooden heart, pining for her lover. And even worse, a shot showing the art directors’ bare legs in bed, reflected in a large ornate mirror that was being cleaned by a maid with one of the catalogue’s feather dusters. We’ll try anything once… |
